We have always been a company that primarily focused on selling affiliate related products and services to people over the internet, but in an effort to make work more interesting, we began taking some local SEO clients in Austin, TX to help promote their businesses.
I quickly learned that it was far easier to make money, and save the hassle, by promoting different things online using a passive-income system vs the day-to-day upkeep of managing client-business relationships and performances. Now there is no joke here, I/we were one of the best companies of achieving real traffic for web sites, of making the best impact for your money, but it just wasn't that rewarding. Sure, it is a good feeling to help hard-working people build their business, but in the end it was always financially driven.
I've found it more fulfilling to have some personal "side projects" that are more interest-driven rather than money driven, and it's been great so far! I say "personal" side projects, because I have been approached by non-profits in the past to me work on various web related projects for them. Most non-profits are unique in their own way and they all try to make their specific positive different in the world — which is great — but I want to help make a different in something that I am passionate about, something that I can connect to... so that's what I would now like to do! I have a certain project in mind right now that is in the early stages, and hopefully it will take off.
What does this mean to most people inquiring about SEO services?
If all you want is a good person to market your website, then I'm probably not your guy, because I'm probably not interested. I know that sounds bad and possibly a little bit arrogant, but it's the honest truth. I unfortunately don't have anybody to refer you to either. My advice is to do your homework – read online reviews about SEO companies and proceed from there. You are also welcome to read over this site (as I develop it), to learn about general business and healthy living tips. Just a fair warning, don't expect to find out anything search engine marketing or SEO related here.
I may be giving out business advice out through this website, but I'm not going to say anything that may help you "compete" for traffic and rankings that I might be competing for. I am still running a competetive, demand-limited online business after all!
Right now my plan is to turn LocalMarketing.net into an outlet for me to "give back" to the small business owners out there, especially those who work in front of the computer a lot, in my preferred passive-effective method of delivery. If you have read this far and you really want to contact me about a project, then I think you've earned that right. Keep in mind though, that if I'm going to get involved with a project, it either has to be a big project highly profitable to myself or it has to be a project that I can uniquely, personally, and passionately relate to. So please, no emails about "what can you do for me" or "tell me more about your services," etc. Like I said, I'm past the standard client-oriented business of web marketing and no longer offer standard services..
